A versatile synthesis of two new types of transition-state analogues of the amide bond hydrolysis is described: the sulfinamide and the sulfonamide moiety. These transition-state analogues are pan of peptides which will be used for the generation of catalytic antibodies as well as for development of protease inhibitors.
