TPL drops plans to set up LAB plant in Vietnam

Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd (TPL) has abandoned its plans of setting up 80,000 tonnes/y linear alkyl benzene (LAB) project in Dung Huat, Vietnam, due to inadequate support from the Government of Vietnam. PetroVietnam, the joint venture partner in the project, now plans to go alone in the project and reduce the capacity of LAB to 30,000 tonnes/y. It is due onstream in 2005.
