โœฆ Synopsis

The reactions of the 4,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,2diazasilole derivative 1 with the sterically encumbered silylenes R 2 Si, R = tBu, 2,4,6-Me 3 C 6 H 2 , proceed by partial degradation of one of the CF 3 groups to furnish the N-di-tertbutylfluorosilyl (3 a) or N-fluorodimesitylsilyl (3 b) substi-tuted 4-difluoromethylene-5-trifluoromethyl-1,3-diaza-2-silacyclopent-5-enes. The structure of 3 a was determined by Xray crystallography.

A Monte Carlo simulation of the depolymerization of linear homopolymers by specific endo-enzymes exhibiting random-attack probability and a single-attack mechanism has been developed. The program simulates the ''real'' depolymerization versus time of a polydisperse sample of substrate by a specific
