โฆ Synopsis
The occurrence of natural parthenogenesis in the eggs of virgin domestic chickens and turkeys now has been well established, as demonstrated by Kosin ('45), Olsen and Marsden ( '53) and Poole and Olsen ( '58). The question remains, however, as to just where and at what time this development is initiated. To obtain information which would help clarify this point, a study was made of blastodiscs of unfertilized premature and newly laid turkey eggs.
