✦ Synopsis

A molecular mechanics force field for studying some beta-lactams was developed from ab initio and experimental data. The optimized parameters allowed accurate calculation of the geometries of both the compounds on which the parametrization was based and others on which the validity of the predictions was checked.

## Abstract In this study, we have focussed on type‐II polyanions such as [M~7~O~24~]^6−^, and we have developed and validated optimized force fields that include electrostatic and van der Waals interactions. These contributions to the total steric energy are described by the nonbonded term, which

## Abstract Modern classical force fields have been traditionally parameterized by attempting to maximize agreement to any number of experimental and/or quantum mechanical target properties. As these force fields are pushed towards obtaining quantitative estimates of often subtle energetic differen
