a b s t r a c t 2-Bromobenzaldehyde is carbonylatively cyclized with primary amines under carbon monoxide pressure in DMF at 100 Β°C in the presence of a catalytic amount of a palladium catalyst to give the corresponding isoindolin-1-ones in moderate to high yields.
