โฆ Synopsis
Packaging of gaskets under clean-room conditions
A concept that allows packing of gaskets under clean-room conditions has been developed by Reinz-Dichtungs-GmbH, in close cooperation with a packaging manufacturer.
This system has been developed for the dust and dirt-sensitive gaskets used in a diesel injection pump system. The packaging concept ensures conformity to required purity levels from production to the unpacking of the gaskets at the assembly line.
For various reasons, many products must be manufactured under extremely clean or even clean room conditions. This is primarily found in the medical area, but also increasingly in the gasket industry. One example of this is the extremely sensitive gasket for diesel injection pump systems. Contamination such as metal shavings, dust or other impurities is the most frequent cause for their failure.
For this reason, Reinz decided to meet the need for packaging the gaskets under clean-room conditions, and together with a packaging company, has developed a new packaging concept. The special material for the packaging is capable of being used in a clean-room, and accordingly is delivered in particle-free condition. It does not damage the sensitive gaskets, is lint-free, and will not adhere to gasket coatings even at high temperatures.
Simple handling and automatic processing are further advantages of the new packaging concept. A multilayer film is fused around the individual packages. This ensures that the gaskets are also securely positioned, cannot rub and are guaranteed particlefree up to the time of unpacking. The new concept has passed a testing program including, shipping, shaker tests and extreme temperatures.
