## Abstract Recently, we discovered oxytocin receptor (OTR) expression in the developing gut villus epithelium that emerges in villus–crypt junctions after weaning. Oxytocin (OT) and OTR regulate many physiological functions in various tissues; however, their function in gut epithelium is unknown.
