✦ Synopsis
The phonon spectrum of the T12Ba2CuO 6 compound has been investigated by Raman scattering for variations in the T1 and oxygen contents. We observe large changes of the vibrational frequencies and lineshapes of the apical oxygen, O (2), and the oxygen in the double T10 layer, O (3), for a T1 content which coincides with the orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition. Oxygen annealed samples (T¢ ~ 20 K) exhibit slightly lower frequencies of the O (2) and O (3) modes than the as-sintered samples (T¢~70 K).
