Manganese (III) mesotetraphenylporphyrin chloride in the presence of tetrabutylammonium periodate has been shown to aid the oxidative desulphurisation and deselenation at pentacovalent phosphorus: the desulphurisation reaction is further aided by the addition of imidazole. There is a variety of chem
