## Abstract The long‐wavelength magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of some nitrogen‐containing heteroconjugated aromatic compounds have been recorded and interpreted on the basis of quantum‐chemical model calculations. In particular, the dependence of the MCD bands on the positions of the N‐
