✦ Synopsis

The group-6 metal(0) tetracarbonyl complexes of a sterically protected 3,4diphosphinidenecyclobutene were irradiated with light in the presence of oxygen to give tetracarbonyl[2,3-dibenzoyl-l,4-diphospha-l,3-butadiene]metal(0) complexes, and the structures were confirmed by X-ray analysis.
