Fractures of the scapula can be mostly conscrvativly. Dislocated fractures can be easily adjusted by suitable approaches. Rigid fixation allows an early mobilisation, which is of very importance for the shoulderjoint, Some dislocated eases have been described and the problems of conservatively treated fractures have been discussed. Follow-up of some with stable fixation treated scapulafraetures show that it is possible to gain a perfect functional result and a painless shoulderjoint in some hopeless cases.
Zusammen/assung. Scapulafrakturen k6nnen in den meisten Fgllen konservativ behandelt werden. Dislozierte Frakturen kSnnen bei geeignctem Zugang verhi/ltnismgfiig cxakt reponicrt werden. Die stabile Osteosynthese erlaubt dann die ffir das Schultergelenk so eminent wichtige Frtihmobilisation. Einige stark dislozicrte Scapulafrakturen wurden aufgeffihrt und auf die Problematik der konservativen Behandlung hingcwiesen. Nachuntersuchung einiger stabil versorgter Scapulafrakturen zeigtcn, dab es auch bei fast aussiehtslosen Fgllen gelingt, ein funktionell cinwandfreies und schmerzfreies Schultergelenk zuriickzugewinnen.
