โœฆ Synopsis

-osdllaring production of micron-sized part&dates is observed in a vapor mixture of Cs (==l torr) and D-, (==20 torr) when the misture is excited by a focused 0.1 W cw laser beam at wavelength within kO.03 A from the 6010.49 A Cs(6P1,2 -8D3,~) rransition. The oscikiting period in the range observed (0.1 to 10 s) varies like [Cs]-* [I& 1-l.

Measurement of the stimulated emission from a cell containing CS2 molecules irradiated by two laser pulses is discussed. Both an approximate adiabatic solution and an exact numerical solution have been used to explain the results. It has been proved that, to obtain maximal signal, the pulses must co
