Multiple fluorescence emission bands are observed for unsymmetrical squaraines, a class of unsymmetrical donor-acceptordonor molecules, in organic solvents at room temperature and are shown to be vibrational tine structures of the emissions of the excited states of the unsymmetrical squaraine and its solute-solvent complex.
