โฆ Synopsis
International Corrosion Abstracts cathodic treatment in a dichromate solution was investigated by anodic potential measurements and Auger electron spectroscopy. Analysis of the shifts between three Cr peaks in the Auger electron spectrum revealed that the passivated film substantially consisted of chromium oxide. A new method to estimate the degree of hydration of chromium oxide by analysis of chemical effects of the spectrum is proposed. 18 ref.
