✦ Synopsis
Experiences in using computer-simulated experiments and response surface methodology to optimize the sampling of fuel peat are reported. After the development of the simulation scheme to assess the quality of the sampling scheme, the study started with a screening design, evolved through more complicated designs and ended with a model describing the sampling process. The model is suitable for optimizing the sampling from both the economic and precision aspects.
