Wheat straw has been hydrolized with sulfuric acid at 34 and 90°C. The treatment at 90°C yields complete solubilization of hemicellulose to xylose and arabinose without significant amounts of furfural. The influence of acid concentration was studied and the kinetics of the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis
