✦ Synopsis
In this paper, the optimal control of current in an impressed cathodic protection system is considered. Such systems are routinely used for corrosion prevention. The analysis presented here enables the corrosion engineer to have a systematic way of determining the current output from a rectifier for complete protection. The boundary element method is employed for numerical calculations of the resulting coupled boundary value problems.
