The problem of determining the optimal catalyst activity profile in isothermal pellets subject to shell-progressive poisoning has been solved analytically for linear kinetics and large Thiele moduli. Using the asymptotic effectiveness factor expressions of Yortsos and Tsotsis (Chem. Engng Sci. 37, 2
