✦ Synopsis

In this paper a study of antireflection coatings for solar cells which provide maximum transmittance in the range of the spectral response of the cell and maximum reflectance in the IR portion of the spectrum of normally incident radiation is reported. Dielectric-metal-dielectric filters with a relatively low number of dielectric layers are designed as coatings for silicon and GaAs solar cells.
