The neutron-weighted phonon density of states in the high-temperature superconductor TI2CaBa2Cu208 (T c = 107 K) is obtained from coherent inelastic neutron scattering measurements at the Dhruva reactor at 300 K. The phonon spectrum is qualitatively similar to that in the 90K superconductor YBa2Cu30
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements of phonon spectra from a powder sample of fayalite at various temperatures is reported. The measured spectra have been satisfactorily analyzed on the basis of a lattice dynamical model. The phonon density of states is used to derive the specific heat, which
