✦ Synopsis
We deal with the question of the periodic modulation signal of the transient transmission and of the photon echo signal in polar semiconductor quantum dots. The theoretical argumentation is based on the numerical calculation of the electronic spectral densities within the two-level model of quantum dot, with a single electron coupled to LO phonons, the coupling treated in the selfconsistent Hartree-Fock approximation to the self-energy. The theoretical results are compared with experiments on CdSe and InAs nanocrystals.

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) in self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots. Upconversion is used to time-resolve the emission from an edge-emitting waveguide structure at room temperature which is excited by short laser pulses in a stripe geometry. We
