Abstract

Schwache NH‐ und CH‐Säuren können mit Diketen (1) vorteilhaft in Gegenwart eines quartären Ammoniumchlorids acyliert werden. Carbonsäureamide liefern wahlweise mit einem oder zwei Mol 1 die Produkte 3 bzw. 10. β‐Ketoester und β‐Diketone ergeben 12a, b bzw. 13, Amide der Acetessigsäure führen zu 5 oder 8. Bei der Selbstkondensation von 1 entstehen das Polymer 16 und/oder 17.

**Onium Salt‐Catalyzed Reactions between Carbonyl Compounds and Diketene** 4‐Oxo‐1,3‐dioxins (plus dehydracetic acid) are obtained in high yields on refluxing the title compounds in toluene in the presence of catalytic amounts of quaternary ammonium chlorides.
