Abstract
magnified image A series of novel quinolone heterocyclic derivatives from natural amino acid were synthesized in oneβpot method, which is very beneficial for the industrial operation to save manufacturing costs. These new compounds were characterized by ^1^H NMR, ^13^C NMR, infrared spectrum, mass spectrum, and elemental analysis. The preliminary bioassays results revealed that they had certain antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2010).

## Abstract A oneβpot method for the preparation of the title compounds (IV) is developed.
Three novel series of 4-oxoquinazoline derivatives were prepared and evaluated as potential antimicrobial agents. Evaluation of the antimicrobial activity of a variety of 4-substituted-1-thiosemicarbazides, 3,4-disubstituted thiazolines, and 3-substituted-5-thiazolidones reveals that the majority po
