Abstract

Isomeric type 1 and 2 amino‐1,2,4‐triazoles condensed with thiazole, thiazine and thiazepine rings were synthesised from 5‐amino‐2,3‐dihydro‐1__H__‐1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐thione and α,ω‐dihaloalkanes through the 5‐amino‐3‐(ω‐haloalkylthio)‐1__H__‐1,2,4‐triazole intermediates. The reaction conditions leading to derivatives 1 and 2, respectively, were determined. A general and safe method for the unambiguous differentiation between structures 1 and 2 was offered by their cmr spectra.
