By means of a device described elsewhere (BECKERS and SCHROTER, 1968) we obtained spectra of the quiescent photosphere in the Fe line 2 6173 A (9 =2.5) simultaneously in the two opposite circular polarizations. Two sets of spectra with good spatial resolution were selected to measure and to correlat
