Anguillicola was not reported in Denmark until 1986, but has most likely been present before. 17 places have been sampled in Jutland and on Zealand. In 6 places Anguillicola was present, 4 in Jutland and 2 on Zealand. The Anguillicola has probably been introduced in one place (the Ringkabing Fjord)
