✦ Synopsis
A potential-energy surface with a low barrier in the exit valley can account for large isotope effects observed in the reaction of K with FrEW, DBr or TBr. Reaction is confined to a range of incident angles determined by the reactant translational and vibrational energies.

The rate constants for the reaction H + HBr -+ Hz + Br were measured between 217 and 383 K using pulsed laser photolysis of HBr and cw resonance fluorescence detection of H('S). The temporal profiles of the product Br atoms were also monitored to obtain the rate constant at 298 K. The yield of Br fr
Analysis of the possible mechanisns of the reaction K + Bra -, K+ + Br; near the threshold is presented. It is assumed that the valence electron of an alkali atom is transferred to the halogen molecule at the intermolecular distance, depending upon the vertical electron @itity of the halogen molecul
The rate constant for the reaction of phenyl radical with hydrogen bromide has been measured with the cavity-ring-down method a t six temperatures between 297 and 523 K. The Arrhenius expression for the H abstraction reaction can be effectively given by: k4 = 10-10.3950.10 exp[-(551 ? 19)/T] cm3/s.
Studies of the reaction of Br + propylene to produce HBr and ally1 radical were made using VLPR (Very Low Pressure Reactor) over the range 263-363 K. Apparent bimolecular rate constants k;PP were found to vary in an inverse manner with the initial concentration of bromine atoms introduced into the r
