β¦ Synopsis
Editing and other manipulations of phytosociotogical data are considered parts of a more comprehensive data management program. The topic is reviewed against the background of an increasing number of presentations in Vegetatio. It is observed that the newer editing programs do not add anything new to the already existing battery of programs. Yet, there is a need for further discussions of some risks in data manipulations, notably apriori deletion ofrelev6s and species transformation of field scores, and incorporation of suitable devices in the packages available. Also, the evaluation of classification results and the allocation of new material to existing classification systems need more attention. So do the problems concerning the production of structured phytosociological tables, as outcomes of multivariate data treatments.

## Abstract A general data processing formalism is presented which can be applied to the signal intensities of successive echoes of a multipleβecho data set in order to null those species for which the signal decay function is exponential. If asymmetric echo times are introduced into the multipleβe
Data from ecological and biomonitoring studies are sometimes dicult to make inferences from owing to the high dimensionality of the data, the lack of normality and other problems. One approach for testing which has interested researchers is the randomization method. A general approach is based on re
