The process of ion transfer in passivating film on iron containing high concentrations of mobile protons are investigated in acid sulfate solutions by virtue of chronoamperometric, capacity and ellipsometric methods. On this base some non-stationary phenomena on passive iron are explained.

AhstraceThe anodic behaviour of pure, recrystallized iron in acid sulphate and perchlorate solutions free of oxygen and surface active substances was investigated in the potential range between the active and passive stzite. The measurements were carried out using an iron rotating disk electrode by
Galvanostatic polarization has been performed on passive iron and nickel in the range of constant current density. Two techniques have been employed (i) successive polarization measurements are made without interruption, (ii) the stationary state is established between each two galvanostatic reading
~The anodic behuviour of highly pure iron in weak acid aqueous solutions which are free of oxygen and surface active compounds takes place in dllTerent ranges: active dissolution, Lransitlon range. prepassive range and passive state. This is indicated by the experimentally ohserved current-density p
