โฆ Synopsis
The effect of the ratio a/B' on the value of K,, in a high strength steel has been studied by measuring the K,, value in three-point bend specimens with shallow and deep notches and by the finite element method. It is shown that, the value of K,c for specimens with shallow notches are larger than those of deep notches, but the degree of increment is smaller than the 6, and Ji values for ductile materials.

The fatigue crack growth rates, da/dn, and the stress intensity threshold levels, AK,, were measured over the range of stress ratio, R, from -1 to 0.8 by the use of an automatic method of continuously decreasing stress intensi
A new fracture mechanics evaluation method, (method of specific potential energy) is introduced, which enables one to predict the fracture load of large specimens in the range of elastic-plastic material behavior. This method is discussed using test results obtained from CT-specimens of the steels 2
