✦ Synopsis

The solid state structure of [(phenylsulfonyl)isopropyllithiumdiglymelz (ad) and of [~a-phenylsulfonyl~-a-~methyl~benzyllithium-diglymel~ (2e) is described. Whereas in dialkyl substituted 2d the anionic C-atom is strongly pyramidalized it is almost planar in phenyl substituted 2e. A rationalization of this observation is proposed within the MO model for a-sulfonyl carbanions.

CpRhFe,(CO),(RC-CR)] has been reported by Vahrenkamp et al.;lX1 in that case, however, the formation of an alkyne ligand by C-C bond formation did not occur. The cleavage and formation of alkynes coordinated to a cluster has been of great recent interest.
