A set of points in a graph is independent if no two points in the set are adjacent. A graph is well covered if every maximal independent set is a maximum independent set or, equivalently, if every independent set is contained in a maximum independent set. The well-covered graphs are classified by th

โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A matrix with positive row sums and all its offโdiagonal elements bounded above by their corresponding row averages is called a Bโmatrix by J. M. Peรฑa in References (SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 2001; 22:1027โ1037) and (Numer. Math. 2003; 95:337โ345). In this paper, it is generalized to more extended matricesโMBโmatrices, which is proved to be a subclass of the class of Pโmatrices. Subsequently, we establish relationships between defined and some already known subclasses of Pโmatrices (see, References SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 2000; 21:67โ78; Linear Algebra Appl. 2004; 393:353โ364; Linear Algebra Appl. 1995; 225:117โ123). As an application, some subclasses of Pโmatrices are used to localize the real eigenvalues of a real matrix. Copyright ยฉ 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
