β¦ Synopsis
A configuration for increcrsing ihe impedance bandwidth of a microstrip patch antenna is described. The FDTD method is applied to analyze the proposed structure. The experimental results are in reasonable agreement with the computed data. The radiation patterns at different frequencies oi'er u wide bandwidth are obtained aperimentally.

## Abstract A novel complementaryβsymmetry microstrip array antenna is presented for broadband operation. The maximum impedance bandwidth of 132.12% and high gain of 10.08 dB is achieved. The radiation patterns are found broadsided across the entire operating band. The design concept of the antenna
