β¦ Synopsis
The oligotrimerization of hexamethylene diisocyanate by tributylin oxide (TBTO), Zr(OBu)4, Ti(OBu),, and Pb-naphthenate was studied. For mild reaction conditions, i.e. weak catalyst (TBTO), low catalyst concentration and temperature, the reaction gave selectively the cyclic trimer (I) and not higher oligomers.

The preparation and bulk characterization of a series of silicasupported Pd-Ni catalysts obtained either by coexchange or by organometallic chemistry have been described in Part I (J. F. Faudon, F. Senocq, G. Bergeret, B. Moraweck, G. Clugnet, C. Nicot, and A. Renouprez, J. Catal. 144, 460 (1993)).
The polymerization of aliphatic isocyanates by organometallic catalysts such as tributyltin oxide, Ti(OBuh or Zr(OBu),, was slow and no enhancement in rate was found on addition of DMF or DMSO, contrary to what was found with PhNCO. However, similar to the latter, fast reactions were observed with c
