Since fuel oil ash contains vanadium (V), the measurement of urinary levels of V may provide a biological marker in workers exposed to fuel oil ash. The usefulness of urine V samples as a biological monitoring tool ultimately depends on determining the appropriate time of sampling relative to when e

โฆ Synopsis
In the pulp and paper industry, steam is one substance that is common to all sub-processes, be it chemical pulping, thermo-mechanical pulping, paper formIng and drying. This study pertains to the latter process or more specifically, the oil-fired boiled. The oil-fired is modelled in two distinct sub-systems ; the thermo-chemical process of combustion and the thermodynamic process of steam generation. by heat-transfer phenomena at two stages : These two sub-systems are coupled at the main boiler risers and at the economiser. The succeeding simulation study, for a given industrial situation, gives insights into the dynamic nature of "swell" during start-up and normal operating situations. All of this as a function of the physical parameters describing the boiler system.
