All she wanted to be was an engineerοΏ½seeing to the construction, testing, and subsequent commissioning of Athena, Earth's newest and most powerful warship. However, Admiral Temple and others knew of her unique skill set, and would call upon her for help. It's what happens after saving Earth a couple of timesοΏ½people think you can do the impossible.
This collection is considered Book 3.5 of the series. Some of these short stories pertain to the overall storyline of Linda Kay's career, while others are somewhat whimsical. The time frame of these stories is during Linda Kay's stint in the orbiting shipyard while Athena is undergoing construction and testing. Some of the short stories allude to earlier events, so it is recommended that you read Books 1-3 of the series first. Book 4 ("Juggernaut") does not depend on readers having read these short stories, but they contain some background events that would enhance Book 4.
