✦ Synopsis

The diffusion coefficient of OH -in LiOH solution was found to be 6.8 x lo-s cm2/s at 298 K at infinite dilution. The experimental technique utilized a rde at which the limiting current for 0, evolution was measured. Because the O2 gas bubbles impact on convection at the electrode, the Levich equation was modified to acoount for this effect. Mean diffusion coefficients of LiOH were determined. At infinite dilution, it is 2.19 x lo-' cm*/s at 298 K. Values are given for the concentration range from 0.5 to 5 M LiOH.

The solubility of oxygen in aqueous KOH solutions has been measured by a Van Slyke apparatus and by an adsorption technique developed by Hildebrand.
