With the help of a model atmosphere of the Sun we evaluate the pole-equator difference in flux (as measured by Dicke and Goldenberg) assuming the following type of pole-equator temperature difference (A T = Te --T~) : (a) A T ~ 2 K for r > r0 (r0 ~ 0.05); (b) A T ~ 10 K for r < r 0. The small ATat
