✦ Synopsis


Current-Voltage characteristics of c-axis oriented thin films of YBa2Cu307-x exhibit a power-law dependence with Vo~ICt(T) near the superconducting transition temperature Tc0. The exponent ¢x(T) shows a "universal jump" from 3 to 1 at the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition temperature TKT. The difference between TRT and Tc0 is 0.23K, which is in reasonable agreement with the theory. The result demonstrates that vortex-antivortex pair excitations occur in the entire film, not in the individual Cu-O planes.
