Quadrupole hyperfine structure has been observed in the vg RQ,(6) transition of "CH3 35C1 using a stable COZ laser oscillating on the 9.4 urn P(24) line. By heterodyning this laser with another which is locked to the 4.3 pm fluorescence dip of the OO'l-00'0 CO2 transition, an accurate measurement of
