โฆ Synopsis
Quadrupole hyperfine structure has been observed in the vg RQ,(6) transition of "CH3 35C1 using a stable COZ laser oscillating on the 9.4 urn P(24) line. By heterodyning this laser with another which is locked to the 4.3 pm fluorescence dip of the OO'l-00'0 CO2 transition, an accurate measurement of the hypertine splittings has been made. The observed spectrum agrees, within experimental error. to the theoretical V&ICS evaluated without the need for a vibrational correction to the quadrupole interaction in the escited vibrational state. The hyperfine component closest to the center of the COz P( 26) transition is determined to be 5.6 i 0.1 hfHz from the P( 26) line center. Landman et al. [l] have reported the absorption of the P(26 line of the 9.4 Crrn band of a CO, laser by %H, 3 1 Cl, and have observed the change in absorption caused by the application of a Stark field. The data of Jones et al. [2] indicate that it is the RQ3(J)

A high-resolution absorption spectrum of the perpendicular fundamental \(v_{6}\) of \({ }^{12} \mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{I}\) was recorded. The band was analyzed essentially as an unperturbed perpendicular band, although a small Coriolis interaction with \(2 v_{3}\) was taken into account. A least-squ

The asymmetry parameters of the electric field gradient at the 35Cl nuclei in polycrystalliae compounds of the 2-, 3-and 4-XC&CHzCl (X = CH,, CI) series were measured at 77 K. The data obtained directly indicate the almost axial symmetry of the electric field gradient at the "Cl nuclei, and the part
