A comparative study with a vertically integrated model and the multi-level model has shown that the former can remain a good substitute for the latter in the prediction of sea-surface elevation as long as the bottom friction coefficients in the vertically integrated models are properly specified.

In the present paper a vertically integrated coastal zone numerical model has been described for the simulation of storm surges and associated coastal inundation in Bangladesh. The model is a generalization of the earlier study C31 in which the fixed side-wall lateral boundary condition along the co
A new method, called hybrid modelling was developed, which dynamically couples physical and mathematical models of various regions of an estuary. The method is used to predict possible changes the development for tidal power would have on the Bay of Fundy/Gulf of Naine existing tides. Fundy Tidal Po
A mathematical model is formulated to describe trends in biomass and penicillin formation as well as substrate consumption for fed-batch cultivations. The biomass is structured into three morphological compartments, and glucose and corn steep liquor are considered as substrates for growth. Penicilli
