✦ Synopsis

Several CFD calculations have been performed in order to assess the ability of common k‐ϡ turbulence models to predict heat transfer in impinging‐jet flow. One focus is on the influence of the wall on the flow, calculated either by applying a logarithmic wall function or by resolving the flow down to the viscous sublayer (two‐zonal model).

Heat transfer and #ow visualization experiments were conducted to investigate the performance of swirling and multi-channel impinging jets and compare the results with those of a multi-channel impinging jet (MCIJ) and conventional impinging jet (CIJ) for the present work at the same conditions. ## Abstract An experimental and numerical simulation study of heat transfer due to a confined impinging circular jet is presented. In this research, a stainless steel foil heated disk was used as the heat transfer surface of a simulated chip, and the thermocouples were mounted symmetrically along t

Based on the presented model for the impinging jet system, extensive theoretical analysis was made on particle deposition. Complete transport equations with consideration of gravity, van der Waals, and electrical double layer (EDL) interactions, as well as hydrodynamic interactions, were numerically
