โฆ Synopsis
The almost complete primary structure of the 16S rRNA from the green sulfur bacterium "Clathrochloris sulfurica" was determined by reverse transcriptase sequencing. Comparison of defined invariable parts of the molecule from representatives of 9 major lines of descent from the eubacterial kingdom shows C. sulfuriea to be highly related to Chlorobium vibrioforme. The relationship between "Clathrochloris" and Chlorobium is in accord with the present allocation of these two genera into the family Chlorobiaceae.

Molecular phylogenetic relationships among members of the odonate genus Libellula (Odonata: Anisoptera: Libellulidae) were examined using 735 bp of mitochondrial COI and 416 bp of 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequences. Considerable debate exists over several relationships within Libellula, as well over t
The four inverted repeat (IR) flanking regions of the Cyanidium caldarium plastid DNA were cloned. Southern blotting, transcript and sequence analyses of the border regions revealed the psbD-psbC operon and the rps16 gene within the large single-copy region upstream of the 16S rDNA gene and the rpl2
