In recent years, enzymatic methodology has become a standard technique for the synthesis of a wide variety of enantiomerically pure precursors and target molecules. Reports on synthesis of nucleosides involving glycosyl transferring enzymes (covering literature up to October 1998) are summarized and discussed in this review.
