β¦ Synopsis
Using the technique of nuclear doible ;x?mnane wias&n mking by !ev& crossing, tie nuclear quadrupole r~SO~;ll;~ of 14N has been msnsurcd in L-histidine, D-L-histidine. L-histidinz hydrochloride monohydrate, sodium UDXZIE?~~ and urocmic acid at 77 K. The nuclear quadrupofe resonamz of both 14N and 2E! has been measured in deutented lrnidazole at 77 EL The previously mzasured spectra for normal iztidzole have been positively assiged with the electric lieId gradient pzameters for tte tri-coordinated nitropn site given by e2&jh = 1424 kfiz and q = 0.980, and for the di-co&dins%%3 nitrogen site by e'qf?ih = 3267 kFfz and 9 = 0.129.

## Abstract Nitrogenβ14 nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) spectra of nicotinic acid derivatives, known as antitumor agents, are reported and analyzed in the framework of the Townes and Dailey theory. A strong correlation exists between the charge difference Ο~NC~ β Ο at the pyridinic nitrogen and
The niirogen-14 nuc!ear qundrupole resonance spectrum of the potassium sait of 7,7', 8,8'-tetracyanoquinodimcthan (K-TCNQ) as found at liquid nitrogen temperature is presented. The data are interpreted in terms of the Townes and Dailey theory and compared with those available for sleutrnl TCNQO. The
