✦ Synopsis

The complexes Zn(bipy)gz zmd Zn(bipy)zQz as well as 2,2'-bipyridyl in aqueous'solution !DzO) have been e.xamined by the NMR method. The presence of the monoutionic bipy D+form in aqueous bipyridyl solution hu b-eed found-The changes of chemical shifts of bipyridyl protons for complexes Zn(bipy)sQz and Zn(bipy)& have conkned explicitly the es.sential influence of diamagnetic &rents on the NMR spectium of Zn(bipy)3&.

The comparison of the spectrn of 2,2'bipyridyl (in CHsOH) and of Zn(bipy)Clz may also suggest the presence of the nonbonding metal-proton 6 interaction.

## Abstract The existence of two independent chromophores in [Ru(bipy)~2~(H~2~V)]^+^, where H~2~V^−^ = violurate anion and bipy = 2,2′bipyridine, was demonstrated by comparing its resonance Raman spectra with those displayed by the [Ru(H~2~V)~3~]^−^ analogue. The magnetic susceptibility has been determined for CuL,(TCNQ-)2 (L = 2,2'-bipyridine, l,lO-phenanthroline, or ethylenediamme; n = 1 or 2), having high electric conductivity. The results show that the Cu\*+L chelates are partially reduced to Cu+L, in the complexes\_ The equilibrium Cu2\*L,(TCNQ\_)a
