Abstract

This letter presents a microstrip circulator topology with a rectangular ferrite region. Optimized networks are designed to maximize transducer power gain and to satisfy the perfect circulation condition with a 50 Ohm termination. The design is validated with measured data showing that 20% bandwidth centered at 10 GHz with a 14 dB isolation specification is achievable. Β© 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The design of microstrip ferrite coupled line (MFCL) circulators using normal mode theory and the first proof-of-principle experiments are described. The longitudinally magnetized ferrite slab is positioned on top of a pair of microstrip lines to form the FCL and this is used with a T -junction and

Imperfect walls at the de¨ice perimeter are allowed.
